Split payments on an order

Updated July 4, 2026

A table wants to split the bill, or a customer pays part cash, part card — an order can be settled with up to three separate payments, mixing cash and card.

  • On the order you'll see the amount paid so far and the remaining balance; the payment badge stays pending until it reaches zero.
  • Each payment is its own ledger line — a cash portion goes to the drawer, a card portion to your Stripe balance, and the payout drill-down shows them separately.
  • The platform fee isn't multiplied — split or not, it's charged once on the order's food subtotal.
Note: Splitting happens at the register (the tablet/POS flow) when taking payment — the three-tender cap keeps settlement clean and disputes rare.
